- Review the institution's program for the humane care and use of animals.
- Review animal welfare concerns.
- Make recommendations on any aspect of the animal program, facilities, or personnel training.
- Review and approve, support activities related to the care and use of animals.
- Be authorized to suspend an activity involving animals.
- Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
- Developing and promulgating safety standards for the conduct of research and teaching involving biological agents
- Specifying training requirements and promoting the training of all personnel working with biological agents.
- Approving and issuing Biosafety Permit(s), at the appropriate biocontainment level(s), for all uses of biological agents within Molecular-cellular research facility, and withdrawing the Biosafety Permit(s) related to any work that is considered to pose an undue biosafety or biosecurity risk.
